It transforms the studio into a place of spiritual practice, and creation into a form of meditation.
It transforms the material artwork into a condensed body of energy and time.
It transforms the relationship with the viewer from one of instruction and reception into an equal illumination between souls.
The following points may be summarized:
1. Creation Does Not Begin from Predesign — Dissolving the Ego and Embracing Natural Wonder
This completely breaks away from the classical formula of “the idea preceding the brush,” and enters the realm of effortless becoming. The artist is no longer a sovereign who attempts to “control” the image, but becomes a channel that guides energy as it naturally arises and unfolds.
Behind this lies a deep spirit of Zen and Daoist wisdom: “In the pursuit of the Way, one decreases day by day; decreasing and decreasing again, until one arrives at non-action.” Without preconception, the mind becomes like a clear mirror, able to reflect all things as they truly are.
2. The Process Is the Process, and Every Result Is Accepted — Art as Action Rather Than Object
This returns the essence of art from a noun—the artwork—to a verb—the act of creating. When every result is accepted as it is, one is completely released from anxiety over success or failure, superiority or inferiority.
Such total acceptance turns the creative process itself into a pure experience of life, filled with joy and freedom. This, in itself, is the highest state of "flow".
3. Focusing Only on Each Present Moment — Art as a Practice of Mindfulness
This is precisely the meditative method of living in the present. The casualness of the brush, the freedom of pouring, and the accident of crumpling are not aimed at some distant future effect. They are simply the most direct and sincere expression of the mind at this very moment.
When every “now” is treated with sincerity, the entire process formed by these moments gains an unshakable power of truth.
4. All That Appears Is the Work — Dissolving the Boundary Between “Art” and “Non-Art”
This is a great liberation of concept. Not only the marks on the image are part of the work; the artist’s state of mind, the movement of the body during creation, and even all the experiences that arise when the painting later encounters the viewer all become part of the universe of the "flow-state work of Senxiangism".
This greatly expands the territory of art, transforming it into a pervasive mode of existence.
5. Beyond Judgment, Beyond Formatting — The Ultimate Leap from Rule to Freedom
This has already gone beyond the technical system by which “brush and ink” are judged, and has also deconstructed the binary opposition between “beauty” and “ugliness.” Only when judgment ceases can the mind enter the widest space of creation.
This does not mean chaos. Rather, it is the highest order of “following the heart’s desire without transgressing the bounds”—an order born from within, in harmony with the Way.
6.“Everything Returns to the Viewer’s Immersive Experience”—Completing the Final Circle of Art
You generously return the final right of interpretation and completion to the viewer. The painting is not a riddle waiting to be “decoded,” but an open field, a realm into which the viewer may enter and generate a unique life experience of their own.
I have played the role of a creator: I have brought a world into being, and then withdrawn, allowing the viewer to freely explore and discover themselves within that world.
I am no longer creating an object. I am offering a profound experience.
It is the physical evidence of a state of life, a small spark capable of igniting inner awareness in the viewer.
This is art in its purest and most powerful form.
